Sound Challenge Ireland 2000

The ALPINE sponsored “Sound Challenge Ireland 2000” event took place at the RDS Simmonscourt pavillion, alongside the “Motorsport International Festival” over the weekend of 17th to 19th of November.
We had a total of 41 Cars entered in the various classes, plus displays from such Dealers as SQ Plus of Manchester, Audio Advice of Portadown, Sounds Secure of Cork & Extreme sound of Athlone, as well as an Alpine multimedia demo car.
Space was a bit cramped on the Saturday & Sunday, especially during the SQ Plus SPL demo’s every hour, when people seemed to almost run in to the hall to see what on earth was making the loud noises.
A Special night out was organised to “Break For the Border” on Saturday evening, for a meal & disco, everyone who attended said how much they enjoyed it. It also allowed the competitors to meet & mix with the Judges, etc. without the pressure of a competition. It gave everyone a chance to let their hair down a bit & party the night away, although there may have been a sore head or two the next day......
On Sunday afternoon we gave out a total of 2 Jackets & 37 Trophies.
4 Trophies were presented by Martin Peel, Loud Association, for the SPL Contest.
11 Trophies were presented to our League Winners by John Robinson, Head Judge.
Finals Trophies were presented by Fergus Donegan Of Alpine Ireland, Show sponsors.
2 Alpine Jackets were presented to Andy Simpson & Johnathon Mark, along with a Judges Special Commendation.
18 Trophies were presented to the lucky winners of the respective classes, plus 3 special Trophies for Best Novice Sound, Best Novice Install & Overall Best Of Show.
A Special award was also presented to Adrian ‘JAZI’ Johnston for having the nerve to wear THAT Check Suit.
