separation, and can advise you if you wish to petition for a
Divorce. There are various grounds for divorce, and we can guide
you as to the appropriate one for your situation. It is possible
to petition for Divorce in the County Court or the High Court and
we can advise you as to the better option.
After a separation, it is important that you receive expert legal advice as to how you will survive financially. You may be able to claim maintenance from your partner or spouse, both for yourself and your children. We provide a service throughout this process, from taking initial instructions to the applying to the Court for an Order if required.
After Divorce, we also assist in
the division of the matrimonial property, whether in the form of
negotiating a separation agreement, or else by representing you
in an application to Court. This process requires a great deal of
communication between Solicitor and Client, and we strive to
provide a high level of ongoing contact to ensure that we can

Obviously children are the most important consideration when there are family problems. It is usually desirable for agreement to be reached regarding the living arrangements of the children of the family when the parents separate, and we will assist and represent you in any negotiations. It is not, however, uncommon for agreement not to be reached, and the matter is brought before a Family Proceedings Court.
