Castle Court is, without doubt, the most prestigious retail shopping development in Northern Ireland. Now one of Belfast's most familiar landmarks, its design and construction have received critical acclaim from acknowledged experts in these fields the world over. The use of granite throughout the centre - much of which was supplied and erected on-site by A. Robinson & Son - was a focal requirement in terms of complementing the glass roof and the resulting high internal light intensity.

In line with company policy, no stone was left unturned to ensure that the natural granite put in place met and, in fact, exceeded architect's specifications.

The he granite used on the building's front facade was imported direct from Italy. This followed an extensive selection process which took members of the Robinson team to quarry locations throughout Europe. The granite finished hallway walls are another impressive feature. Running through to the cafeteria, they fully complement the granite counters and work surfaces used at that location. Moreover, the use of highly polished granite adds considerably to the glass finished lifts in Castle Court.
