Christmas Everyone is busy At this special time of year. There`s lots of work for mums and dads As Christmas is quite near. The parcels and the presents The turkey and the food. The children are all happy And trying to be good. The tree is up The crib is out. The baby lying in the hay. Now lets all pause a little while To wish Jesus a Happy Birthday. By Kirsten Mc Connell.

The cold snow The cold cold snow. How cold does it blow. Through the trees. Through my hair. It just blows everywhere. Its cold as ice. But really really nice. It looks like cotton wool. But keeps me really cool. It only comes once every year. But all the children seem to cheer. They love the snow, they love the sun. But most of all they love the fun. Isabel Irwin.

Santa Santa in his suit so bright, Riding in his sleigh On Christmas Eve Night, With sacks full of toys For all the girls and boys. A little surprise Before your eyes, As Santa and Rudolf Go flying by. On Christmas Eve Night I shiver in delight To hear the bells jingle in my ear. Orla McGarry |
Christmas I hate getting up in the mornings, And leaving a nice cosy bed, So I slide down under the blankets, And pull them over my head. But Christmas Morning is different, I jump up full of glee, For I know downstairs in the living room That Santa has visited me! Katherine Williamson

Big Red Nose My nose is rather itchy, I think I'll have to sneeze, I wonder what has caused This need for me to wheeze. Could it be the pepper I put on my cheese and toast? Or maybe just the pollen from the flowers and the trees. I think I need my puffer to give me some relief Or maybe just my hanky, And I could sneeze in peace! Kristoffer Williamson

THE PLAYGROUND Visiting the playground I start to have some fun, Children playing all around Jumping in the leaves, Enjoying the Autumn sun. You can jump and skip And run around, Watch out in case you trip Or you'll land on the ground You can play hide and go seek But watch, the one whose on it may take a peek. You must run away So they will not catch you until the end of the day But then it soon gets dark And you must leave the park. Lauren Byrne

Billy Mc Bone Billy Mc Bone Had a mind of his own , Which he mostly kept under his hat . The teachers all thought That he couldn't be taught, But didn't seem to mind that. Billy Mc Bone Had a mind of his own, Which the teachers had searched for for YEARS. Trying test after test, They still never guessed It was hidden between his ears. Billy Mc Bone Had a mind of his own, Which only his friends ever saw . When the teacher said, "Bill, whereabouts is Brazil?" He just shuffled and stared at the floor. Billy Mc Bone Had a mind of his own, Which he kept under lock and key. While the teachers in vain Tried to burgle his brain, Bill's thoughts were off on their own. By Emma Garland

The itchy, twitchy witches There was a witch, This witch had itch, The itch was so itchy, It gave her a twitch. Another witch, Admired the twitch, So she started twitch, Though she had no itch. Now theres two them, So its hard to tell, Which witch has the itch, And which witch has the twitch. Ciara Mc Garry

Birds There is a bird in the sky it is flying so high why oh why do they leave when Autumn departs and winter comes in. Why can we not fly so high because we are people and they are birds.
