What role will E-commerce play in future society?

  E-commerce will change our entire outlook on  shopping.   Already Mp3’s and downloadable movies have changed their respective industries.  In the future anything we desire could be just a few clicks away.  This would all be possible from the comfort of our own home.

What will E-commerce hold in store for us in the future?

New technological innovations such as ‘Sky Digital’, ‘Sega Dream cast’ and ‘Playstation 2’ will mean that e-commerce will no longer be limited to PC owners, enabling more and more people to partake in e-commerce.  E-commerce will be faster, more efficient and safer than ever beforee.  

How will this help the consumer?

The faster technology grants users the ability to spend more time on-line and be exposed to more companies and the more time spent on-line the more confident people will be in their purchasing of products.

Are businesses confident enough to invest in e-commerce?

If the e-commerce boom continues businesses will have no choice but to invest in e-commerce.  The successful companies of the future will be those who take e-commerce seriously.  Companies that use it as a reason to completely re-design their business processes are likely to reap the greatest benefits. It is estimated that transactions over the Internet will rise to nearly £2000 billion within three years and over £3500 billion within five.
