Biblical or anti-biblical?
|
The Masonic Lodge has always claimed its degrees and practices accord perfectly with
Scripture, however, when examined in the light of God's Word they are exposed as deeply
occultic and highly unscriptural.
As Christians we believe the Bible to be God's infallible, fully inspired
Word of Truth. We look upon the Scriptures alone as the unadulterated source
of our argument. We look upon this precious book, as the final authority on
all matters of faith and conduct. As Jesus said, "Man shall not live by
bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
(Matthew 4:4)
The professing Christian must therefore test every religious structure
by the revealed truth of God's Word. The Bible commands the Christian to
"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance
of evil" (1Thessalonians 5:21-22).
We take the Word of God as our guide in this endeavour, believing it to
be the inerrant, infallible, fully inspired Word of Truth. We say in
the words of evangelical author Vance Havner, "The Word of God is either
absolute or obsolete."
Paul the Apostle aptly asked in Romans 4:3, "what saith the scriptures?"
This passage embodies or should embody the core principle for testing
any religious institution, movement or denomination. So having established
the foundation of our argument, we will endeavour to look at the
purpose, the precepts and the practices of Freemasonry in
the light of Holy Writ.
God commands in His Word, "What thing soever I
command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from
it" (Deuteronomy 12:32).
Therefore, we see that no rite or practice other than that
which is expressly commanded in Scripture, should be found among God's
people. The Masonic Lodge degrees and practices are there
fore evidently exposed on this site
to be totally and utterly against God's precious Book.
