Emigrated to USA. In Thomas Bennett's book North Antrim Families, privately printed in 1974, he mentions a marriage between Matilda Smyrell of Lisheeghan who married 17 Feb. 1909 John Bamford, went to America. He was the son of Hugh Bamford of Lisheeghan.
John Bamford, aged 30 years and a son of Hugh Bamford (1846 - 1907) of Lisheegan, travelled to America on the ship, Lucania, from Liverpool and arrived at the port of New York (Ellis Island) on the 28 February 1909; his destination according to the ship's manifest was his brother-in-law's (George McGreagh or McCrae) home at 284 Pine Street, West ?, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer and was married.
