Hello Noreen,

It is interesting that your father's Birth Certificate gives his Date of Birth as the 10 September 1906.  I have attached (a Microsoft Word document) some extracts from the Baptismal Register of Rasharkin Presbyterian Church.  These give the dates of baptism and birth of the children of James Bamford and Mary Jane Dysart of Crushybracken as recorded by the Church and recorded your father's Date of Birth as 23 August 1906.  {Who knows!}

Best wishes,

Trevor McClean

My Mother had mentioned at one time that there was some confusion over my father's birth date.  We always celebrated it on Sept. 10.  I have a "Certified Copy of an Entry of Birth" issued on 6 October 1940 (no doubt it was needed for him to become a US citizen on 17 Jan 1941).  His birth was registered on 23 October 1906.  Someone probably made an error somewhere in transcribing.

Thanks - Noreen
