Baptist Church

Although the Baptists came to Ireland in the mid-seventeenth century, it was the nineteenth century before they began to make an impact. The earliest records in the custody of the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland begin in the 1860s and consist of marriages and minute books. As the Baptist Church does not practise infant baptism, there are no baptism registers, but details of those who became members can be found in the minute books. Baptists do not have any burial grounds and therefore no burial registers.

Baptist Church records are held in the custody of the churches or with the Baptist Union of Ireland in Belfast. The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland has no copies of Baptist Church records.
