I had been concentrating on observing birds on the water when I heard, behind me, a bird singing. I slowly turned round to see a robin which continued singing for a few seconds.

It then seemed to 'gag' as if something were stuck in it's throat.

In a second or two, it spat out a small globule (ringed in the photo). I can only assume that it was, like owls and gulls, getting rid of the indigestable bits of it's meals.
