TRIBUTE TO THE LATE SUB
OFFICER
Wesley Orr BEM
This page is dedicated to the Late Sub
Officer Wesley Orr BEM who was killed in the execution of his duty on the
16th
November 1978 attending a Terrorist explosion on the Glen Road Belfast.
Lest we forget fond memories.
Sub Officer Orr BEM was the Officer in
charge of a Fire after a bomb explosion at a brewery on the Glen Road in
Belfast. After
fire fighting media was set up Sub Officer Orr entered the building along with
his BA team when a second no warning device exploded killing Wesley. Several
Firemen were injured in the blast.
Lisburn fire crews were in the
front line attending all terrorist related incidents on the station ground also
backing up other over stretched stations in the Greater Belfast Area during the
so called troubles.

We paid the ultimate price for
doing our duty
"Never was so much owed by
so many to so few"
