The Annual General Meeting is over for another year. We received an excellent account on the state of the club and the successes of the season for 2000.

I have been elected by the new committee to be chairman for the season 2001. This is a great honour but it has great responsibility as the club prepares for the last season at its historic home at Ormeau. There is a good range of age , ability, experience and talent on the new committee. Already sensibly and wisely it has made four welcome co-options; John Law, Wilfie Hanna, Brian Fitzgerald and Hubert Cranston. All bring an array of experience in cricket administration which will be invaluable in this momentous year ahead.

Not only will the club have a demanding domestic season as the 1st XI return to Senior Section One, but already a number of significant fixtures are coming to the ground - the Senior Cup Final; The Australian Touring side and the NI schools Cup Final;. We are delighted that the MCC have agreed to play a farewell fixture on this famous ground against the club - the first time since the Centenary season in 1960. This will take place hopefully during a festive cricket week in August.

North of Ireland has always had strength in depth throughout all the teams in the club; adult and youth. We must ensure that this continues in the future. The committee has already spent more time discussing the provision for boys than any other topic. The club is for cricketers to come along and enjoy excellent facilities and the opportunity to participate at all levels.

The committee is already actively planning for the next season throughout the Winter and Spring. You will be kept informed via this site - so keep hitting and visiting!
