NCU Senior League Winners (1897 - Present)
The Senior League in
the NCU started in 1897, ten years after the start of the Senior Cup.
The title has been shared on 7 occasions, 3 of which involved North. We
have also won the League 17 times outright, making a grand total of 20
wins. The last title win for us was in 1990 when we shared
the honours with Lurgan.
Like the Senior Cup, we were very strong in the first decade of the twentieth
century, our 'Golden era' ! In the first 9 years (1900 - 1908),
we won the League on 7 occasions,
with 4 of them on the trot. In the Cup in
the same period we had 7 successes with 5 on the trot. These
stats also mean that we had 4 League and Cup doubles with 3 of them on
the trot ! Undoubtly this represents the best
winning sequence of any North side in history.
