NIMMA began with a weekend for mixed marriage couples in Corrymeela in 1974. Those present realised the benefits to be found from sharing their experiences. Since this time there have been regular meetings and the association has developed in four main directions.
1) Acting as a mutual support group
2) Providing advice and information to anyone who contacts us through our office
3) Helping the clergy to understand the concept and practicalities of Inter-Church marriage
4) Influencing the attitude of the local community to mixed marriages
