Programme of Free Retail Training Courses

Several of our members are currently participating in a 14-week retail programme sponsored by Proteus. Organised in conjunction with East Belfast Enterprise Park Ltd., these free courses are held at 308 Albertbridge Road, and run from 6 to 9 pm on Wednesdays. They cover such topics as Marketing Assessment, Target Marketing and Merchandise Display. 

The idea of the programme is to help invigorate your business operation and harness new opportunities.

IT Training Courses

In the New Year, ECOM Management Ltd, the trading arm of the Greater East Belfast Partnership, will be building on the success of its East Belfast IT Seminar Series with a range of new computer training programmes geared towards local traders.

The highly-acclaimed free IT seminars will be continuing one evening a month, covering a variety of computer topics relevant for small businesses. By popular demand, the introductory sessions on the Internet and Web Sites will be repeated. In addition, there will be new sessions on such topics as digital imaging (including the use of scanners and digital cameras) and e-commerce.

ECOM will also be hosting a regular clinic for local traders. This is your opportunity to drop into ECOM's IT Resource Centre to discuss specific issues related to your own business's use of computers. These sessions will tackle everything from basic purchasing and upgrade advice, through to helping develop complete IT solutions for your particular business requirements.

Most significantly, though, ECOM will now be offering small businesses a range of customised intensive IT courses at a reasonable cost. ECOM has learned that very few local traders have either the time or money to dedicate to lengthy computer training programmes, and so is designing these courses to be as effective as possible. ECOM will take the time to learn how you work, in order to provide you with exactly the training you need, quickly and inexpensively. The range of courses will encompass everything from basic computer and Internet use, through using office applications and accountancy software, to advanced database management.
