Photo The Adventurers are aged between 7 and 11 years old. The Adventurers meet with the Juniors at the morning meetings, before breaking away on their own to complete the Adventurers worksheet in their small workgroups. Photo The Adventurers have their own afternoon and evening meetings each day of the mission, in which a lively and exciting program is held to suit their age group. Afternoons are usually an informal time which is used as an opportunity to build up a relationship with the children and get to know them. The program will usually begin with a short object lesson, bring out a biblical principle that they can apply to their lives. The rest of the time is spend with treasure hunts, games and other activities. "Hunt the Worker", one of the most popular activities amongst the children and even the leaders, despite "worker" being a concept foreign to most of the leaders. This involves the leaders dressing up as "so called workers" and hiding around the estate. The children are tasked with finding each leader and providing a secret password or phrase. It makes good sense to make sure you are asking a CSSM leader when the phrase could be "Do your toes curl up in bed at night?". Photo "Hunt the convict" another popular activity, where one of the leaders dresses up as an escaped criminal who has been located in the estate. The children have to follow the trail of blood (tomato ketchup) around the estate and capture the convict. The evening program, is similar to the morning meetings, with choruses, memory verses, quiz and bible lesson. The evening program is developed especially for the adventurers age group, and they have their own theme for the week which the meeting follow. The second part of the evening program again is less formal. The children and leaders get involved in craft work related to the weeks theme, which the children are proud to show to the parents and friends on the Thursday evening. Some time is also devoted to games in the evenings also. If you enjoy working with age group, have loads of energy to burn off, then the Adventurers is for you.
