Vocalist Brad Hurst might sound mental half the time, but he's got his crooning side as well, and just whether you'll find him singing, screaming, rapping or whispering in sinister fashion during a given song is anybody's guess. Guitars and keyboards man Scott Bruce likes to pound out some pretty heavy riffs, though he admits that he catches himself by surprise occasionally with some lighter moments. Bruce has this to say about the band's influences: "It's hard to say, really. I suppose they'd include people like Faith No More, Metallica, Korn, Limp Bizkit and Mr Bungle. A weird assortment I know, and we don't necessarily sound like any of 'em. Best way to find out is just to listen to us." To date, the Cold Filtered boys have no definite gig plans, but keep an eye on this space, as well as the usual Belfast listings. Hurst explains the band's decision to give out a number of taster CDs to an unsuspecting public. "It's to get people listening," he explains. "They'll be more keen to support us in the future if they get into our music now. People like to have some idea of what to expect with a band, and we want to help them find out."
